Northern Indoor Under 15 Champs

Four athletes made their way to Sheffield on 2nd Feb for the Northern U15 indoor champs. Georgia Fielding and Hollie Carroll had an early start in the 200m heats where they both recorded PB’s. Georgia finished in 3rd place narrowly missing out on a place in the semi final with only top 2 qualifying, despite finishing in the top 18 from 47 athletes. A huge achievement for her given she is still only 12 years old and in her first year in the age group. Hollie, in her first Northern Champs race finished in 2nd place guaranteeing a place in the semis where she finished in 4th place.

In the 60m hurdles, Olivia Jones and 2nd claim athlete Bella Robinson were tied in the same heat. Qualification to the final was tough with only the winner guaranteeing a place. Liv won the heat with Bella in 2nd where she recorded a PB in the process going under 10 secs for the first time in her first Northern Championship race and securing a place in the final. The final was just over an hour later and a close race for the top 2 positions saw Liv pull out a big PB to finish with a well deserved silver medal ranking her 2nd in the North of England and 4th in the UK. Bella finished an excellent 5th place.

Well done to all athletes on some fantastic achievements today!
