U15/U17 Northern Inter Counties Track & Field

Congratulations to four of our athletes who represented Greater Manchester at U15/U17 Northern Inter Counties Championships from a sunny Blackpool on 27th May

Olivia Jones (pictured in main photo) was first off in the U15 girls 200m where she won her heat and just outside her PB set a few weeks ago. She was also part of the 4x100m relay in which the team won by 50m ranking them 2nd in the UK. Next up, in the U17 men’s 100m was Max Ormston, finishing strong to be rewarded with a new PB of 11.70 secs. He was lead off leg, running the 200m of the medley relay.

Our sole field eventer was Oliver Sherris in the U17 men’s pole vault, equalling his PB set last week. Finally, Amelia Jones was drafted in to run a 400m leg in the U17 women’s medley relay after a last minute drop out. With little preparation she held her form throughout to run a fantastic leg in only her 2nd ever 400m race. All four athletes should be proud of their performances and their first county vests with hopefully many more to come!
