The Tour 2024
The Iconic Tour of Tameside, now branded The Tour 2024 took place from 13th -16th June where 11 ECH athletes completed the gruelling 4 day event. This includes The X Trail 10k, Hell on the Fell 6 miles, Hero Half Marathon and Ron Hill Hyde 7 miles.
Gavin Browne finished 2nd place overall (again!!) and 1st Vet 35 performing very consistently over all stages. Robin Horner finished a very creditable 10th place and 2nd vet 45. The men’s team finished 2nd place overall with Daniel Kenny (18th) making up the team.
A massive well done to other finishers including Jonathan Aust (20th), James Hartshorne (21st), Tom McMahon (25th), Allan Cooke (39th), Hayley Simpson (45th overall and 4th female), Paul Minton (49th - Big money Minton picture below), Adrian Priestley (67th) and Jennifer Mabbot (183rd overall and 39th female).
Well done to all for completing this tough challenge and any ECH athletes who completed an individual race. A special mention to 17 year old Oliver Walker who finished 16th and 1st under 20 in the X-Trail 10k and 18th and 1st under 20 in the Ron Hill Hyde 7. Matt Smith also performed well in the Hyde 7 coming home in 5th place overall.
Finally, well done to all the amazing children who took part in the one mile fun run on the last day in Hyde. It was great to see you all out there and having fun!
