North of England Track & Field Championships 2023

Day 1 of the Under 20 and senior North of England champs was held at Sport city today. ECH had 3 athletes competing. First up was Emily Bowker in the U20W 400m where she picked up a bronze medal and PB. A remarkable achievement considering she’s a first year U17. Lily Murphy contested the U20W 100m taking the win in heat 1 and was crowned North of England champion in the final in her first year in this age group. James Harney contested the U20M long jump finishing 6th place overall.

Day 2 of the Northern U20 and senior champs and an early start for James Harney in the U20 men’s 400m hurdles where he finished a credible 4th place in a straight final. Onto the longer distances, and our sole senior competitor was Joe Hudak where he contested the SM 800m, finishing in 4th place in heat 2 and missing out on a place in the final by the narrowest of margins. Last to go was U20 Emilia Platt where she took on the longest event of the day, the 5000m, where she picked up a well-earned PB and silver medal. Well done to all athletes from all at ECH
