North of England Cross Country Championships 2024
15 ECH athletes made the long trip to Sedgefield racecourse for the North of England XC Championships on 27th January 2024.
An iconic event where the best runners from all over the North go head to head. Conditions were good and the course was dry and fast with a few slight undulations.
Emilia Platt was the stand out performance finishing a superb 5th place in the junior women’s race an showing what great form she is in. Teammate Aliesha Smith worked hard as always to finish in 35th place.
Marshall Fleet had a fantastic run in the under 15 boys race coming home in 21st with Alfie Manser grafting home in 68th place.
In the under 13 girls race solid performances came from Imogen McBurnie 61st and Erin McMahon 93rd. Harri-Ann Fleet worked hard to finish 60th in the under 17 women’s race with Joe Taylor 81st in the men’s race.
Ever-present Hayley Simpson was first ECH home in the senior women’s race in 97th with Megan Lewis running well in 138th. Gavin Browne was first ECH home in the senior men’s race in a solid 63rd place with Gareth Raven 75th, Jonathan Aust 219th, James Hartshorne 249th and George Lewis 269th.
