National 12 & 6 Stage Relays - ECH compete on the big stage
Sutton Park in Birmingham hosted the 2024 National men’s 12 and women’s 6 stage relays on 6th April. An Iconic event where the best teams and athletes in the country compete for team awards and fastest leg times.
East Cheshire’s men qualified for the event by finishing 14th in the Northern 12 stage two weeks ago and were able to field a strong team. The women didn’t need to qualify but thanks to Hayley Simpson for putting a team together.
The men’s team finished a very creditable 41st place with the women’s team coming home in 30th place.
Long legs were 5.38 mile and short legs were 3.16 mile. Windy, warm conditions made it tough and the undulating course took it out of the legs. None the less some outstanding performances, well done to the below:
